This award is presented each year to the outstanding science teacher from a participating school.

Established by Mary Haviland, RN, MSN, in 2000, this award consists of a cash award, a marble plaque, and a traveling trophy. It is presented to a participating Washington State Science and Engineering Fair (WSSEF) teacher who:

Nomination can be made by a principal, department head, peer, science student, or science student parent. The nomination packet should include letters of endorsement and a teaching biography/resume. 

The selection will be announced at the WSSEF award ceremony on 31 March 2012.
